Q: What is the maximum number of people for a workshop? *****
A: However many people you have table space for. Each person should have a minimum of 5'x2' of table space. We can use kitchen tables and counters, folding tables, etc. *****
Q: Is knitting experience required?
A: No! This is a beginners class - no experience necessary!
Q: Where are the workshops held?
A: I come to you within 90 minutes of Brookfield, WI. It can be a home, rented space, church meeting room, etc.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: I offer $65 per person and $85 per person workshops.
Q: What do you get with the $65 Workshop?
A: I bring a variety of yarn colors for everyone registered for the $65 option to choose from at the event. You will get 6 skeins of chunky chenille yarn and a blanket bag to store your blanket. Anyone interested will be emailed instructions with pictures, an instructional video and tips for buying yarn after the class.
Q: What do you get with the $85 Workshop?
A: Everything included with the $65 but you choose your color from over 40 premium yarn colors from a small business in Michigan. The premium yarn is softer and thicker and tends to hide mistakes better :-)
Q: Can we do a mix of $65 and $85 at my event?
A: Yes!
Q: How long does a workshop take?
A: I book 4 hours for each workshop but most people finish closer to 3 hours.
Q: What is the minimum number of people for a workshop?
A: 4 people is the minimum within an hour of Brookfield. 10 people for 90 min.
Q: What is the minimum age for a workshop?
A: Right now the minimum age is 12 years old. But I will be testing a smaller blanket size with younger children soon!
Q: What size will the blanket be?
A: The blankets are intended to be lap blankets. Size can vary greatly depending on the size of the loops you make. The tightest knitters end up with a blanket approximately 45"×42" however most beginning knitters end up with a larger blanket with looser stitches.
Q: How do you wash the blankets?
A: The blankets can be machine washed on the gentlest cycle and air dried or no heat machine dried.
Q: How do I book a workshop?
A: Message me or email downtimewithdawn@gmail.com to coordinate a date. I will then make links for you to share with your group. Each person can register and pay for their spot themselves. No need for collecting money from everyone. Once you have 4 registered guests your date is reserved! *****4 registered guests are required within 72 hours of links being created. (Does not apply to public workshops.)
Q: When does everyone have to register by?
A: Once your date is reserved with 4 registered guests, registration for the $65 option will be open until 2 weeks before the event. Registration for the $85 option will be open until 4 weeks before the event.

Return and Refund Policy

Please note the following workshop registration cancelation policies

•Registration/cancelations 4 weeks before the event or more will be refunded or rescheduled to an open public workshop.

•Cancelations under 4 weeks before the event will be given the option to pick up a DIY blanket kit or find someone to take your spot. If I have someone on a waiting list I'll be happy to contact them. If I can fill your spot I will refund your registration.

•Cancelations the week of the workshop can pick up their yarn kit and use the emailed instructions to

Complete their blanket or send someone to make the blanket in their place.

•IF YOU DON'T ATTEND YOUR SCHEDULED WORKSHOP FOR WHATEVER REASON: It is your responsibility to contact me to arrange for you to pick up your yarn (in Brookfield, WI) or have it shipped to you at your cost. I will email you instructions on how to complete your blanket. I will hold yarn kits for 2 weeks before they are forfeited. I unfortunately do not have the space to hold the yarn indefinitely.

•Make sure to register with a valid email address. Reminders and color choice emails (when applicable) will be sent to the email entered with your registration.

•I make every effort I can to make contact to collect color choices for the $85 option. If I am unsuccessful, I will order the most popular color, which is oatmeal.

****PRIVATE workshops can only be rescheduled 4 weeks before the scheduled date IF I can rebook the date. Otherwise the kits will be available for pickup on the day of the scheduled event and will be held for 2 weeks.

•In the EXTREMELY UNLIKELY (has never actually happened) event that a public workshop is canceled by the venue or instructor you will get the option of rescheduling to any open workshop or getting a DIY kit to complete the blanket with emailed picture and video instructions. You may pick up your yarn kit in Brookfield, WI or I can ship at my cost for the inconvenience.
